Quito is a city full of challenges and that includes street food. It´s not easy finding the areas in Quito where the culinary offer is lively and colorful at night. Worry not, we´re here to show some light on the matter, however, this are just some areas to go and look, you need to put your explorer boots and get lost in the eating and walking.
Here are a few neighborhoods we love to explore for a delicious Quito food night out:
- La Real Audiencia: Located in the northern part of Quito, this avenue offers a variety of options in a compact area. Just walk around and let your instinct guide you.
- La Jota: A bit off the beaten path, this neighborhood is a must for food explorers. Try to visit on Sunday around 9 pm for the best experience.
- La Vicentina: Just blocks away from the touristy La Floresta neighborhood (where the famous Quito chocolate Pacari store is), La Vicentina boasts one of the city's best food scenes. Don't miss the tripas and empanadas de viento at Parque Navarro.
These are some good areas to try Quito street culinary scene, however the best way of finding is exploring, getting lost, walking around busy areas such as public universities, big corporate buildings and political centers, look for the places with big lines of locals, that is always a good hint. Enjoy!
